While using JENNIFER 5 to conduct verification, I could not initiate the shutdown. Please refer to the agent environment below.
- jave : 1.7.09
- tomcat : 7.0.32
- OS : CentOS release 6.3 64bit
I was trying to stop it using shutdown.sh, but I could not do it.

[ catalina.out error]
SEVERE: The web application [] appears to have started a thread named [net.sf.ehcache.CacheManager@4a04c101] but has failed to stop it. This is very likely to create a memory leak.
Thread named is different by service. It appears that the class has not been moved over the process of unload. What should I do to fix the problem?

It is just alert log that would occur when operating thread became still alive even if you did shutdown the tomcat. When sending a shutdown signal to tomcat, the process became on and off. You might see the log at this moment. If you did not see the log before installing JENNIFER, but such log occurred after the installation, please apply the catlina.sh only to run, start part.

Thanks for your answer. I guess I did ask you a wrong question. Sorry for making inconvenience. When running the shutdown.sh, I noticed an error at the catlina.out and tomcat was still in process. I thought maybe this caused the error. When I tested with a sample application included at tomcat, the tomcat was still in process even if I initiated the shutdown.sh. of course I was not able to print out the error. I noticed that only the shutdown port was closed when initiating the shutdown.sh and the process still became alive. I tested the same process under the different application, but the tomcat was still in process. As you told me, I applied the catalina.sh only to start and run. But I could not see any difference. I could change in a way that I closed the process in catalina.sh, but I try not to change the existing shell.

We had a similar problem under the 5.0.7 version or below. The JENNIFER failed to terminate the thread and did not terminate the tomcat properly. Please check your version. If you still could not terminate the process even if you inserted the JENNIFER, there must be something wrong at JENNIFER.

Thanks for your prompt answer. The installed JENNIFER version is 5.0.8.4. I downloaded it from link below.
?JENNIFER5 Server? http://www.jennifersoft.com/system/download/jennifer5/server/jennifer-server-5.0.8.4.zip ?JENNIFER5 Agent(for JAVA)? http://www.jennifersoft.com/system/download/jennifer5/agent/java/jennifer-agent-java-5.0.8.4.zip
the version of server and agent is identical.
